Sync across devices, folders and a smarter AI

A big update. Your work now syncs across all your devices with end-to-end encryption. You can organise documents in folders, add images, and work with an AI that edits right in your text while you decide what stays.

🌟 Highlights

  • Sync between devices. With ListoInk Premium, your documents, settings, ideas and AI conversations stay the same on every device. Everything is encrypted on your device before it leaves, and you keep writing offline while changes go up in the background.

  • Folders. Organise documents into folders and subfolders, each with its own icon and colour. Drag things in and out, and search across the whole tree.

  • Images in your documents. Paste or drag images into the text, resize and align them, and open them full screen with zoom. Every export includes them.

  • The AI edits right in your text. Ask for a change and the AI suggests it paragraph by paragraph, with additions in green and removals in red. You accept or reject each one, and you can hold to see the original.

  • A daily ideas notebook. The yellow light bulb opens a notebook with one page per day, plus search, task lists and highlighting. It syncs between devices without losing anything.

  • Six new languages. German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch and Polish. That makes eleven.

🆕 New features

  • Ask the AI in a comment. Select text, choose “Ask AI…” and the conversation happens in the margin. Accept the suggestion right from the comment.

  • My prompts. Save the requests you use often, organise them in folders and run them with “/” or the Prompts button. They include formatting, a version history, and Archive and Trash.

  • Attach documents to the AI. Type @ to let the AI read another document or a single section. You can also give it a style to imitate or a style guide you write.

  • Use your own AI key. Connect OpenAI, Gemini or Claude as well as OpenRouter, and see how much of your OpenRouter credit you’ve used.

  • Send images to the AI. Turn on “Images” to include pictures from your text in a request, and choose which ones to send.

  • Import documents. Bring in Word, PDF, EPUB, HTML or Markdown files from the list. They are split into sections and subsections by heading.

  • Named snapshots. In the Time machine, save a version with a name before a big revision. With Premium, you can also bring back older versions from the cloud, section by section.

  • Invite friends. Share your link: when a friend subscribes, you each get one free month.

  • Code blocks and task lists (type []) in your documents.

  • Whole words only option in Find.

  • Help everywhere. The Guide is also on the web at listoink.com/help, with search. The “?” buttons next to features open the right page without leaving your document.

  • Sign in with email as well as Google.

  • Service notices. A banner at the top tells you about maintenance or outages.

🛠️ Improvements

  • Better PDF export. Clickable chapters in your PDF reader’s side panel, colour emojis, and support for Japanese and Korean. Your screen doesn’t freeze while it’s being made.

  • EPUB with a table of contents. A progress window shows while long documents export.

  • Smarter typing. -- becomes a dash, ... becomes an ellipsis, and quotes and brackets close themselves more cleanly.

  • Comments are easier to spot. A line in the margin marks each comment, and you can jump between open comments.

  • Clearer AI panel. One box for profile and model, simple switches for context, ideas and images, and a warning before sending if the request is too big for the model. It also shows an estimated cost per request.

  • Enter to send. Enter sends comments and AI requests, and Shift+Enter starts a new line. You can change this in Settings.

  • Undo history is kept for each document, even after you close it.

  • New home screen. Folders on the left and recent documents in the middle, with a right-click menu on documents, folders and sections.

  • Tidier document toolbar. The formatting bar fits on one line on smaller laptops. Notes and Sections get the same formatting bar.

  • Cleaner links. Pages now have simple addresses that are easy to bookmark.

  • Back closes menus first. Going back closes an open menu or dialog before it leaves the screen.

  • Bottom bar on phones. Open Ideas, the Assistant, Notes and Sections full screen, one at a time. (mobile)

  • A comment no longer covers the text. The text stays visible while a comment is open. (mobile)

  • Choose whether to send error reports in Settings → Privacy. Your text is never included.

🐞 Fixes & optimizations

  • The update button now reloads the app as it should.

  • The text selection bar works properly on Android. (mobile)

  • Buttons respond again after you come back from the payment page.

  • “Mark as resolved” works on the first click.

  • Your reading position stays put after you drag the scrollbar or close a full-screen image.

  • Typing in Japanese, Chinese or Korean no longer sends a comment or AI request by accident.

  • Sync recovers by itself as soon as your connection comes back.

  • AI requests survive a dropped connection and tell you clearly why they failed.

  • Exports never hang: if one stops responding, you get a clear error and can keep working.

NewImprovedFixed

Welcome to ListoInk ✨

ListoInk is a writing app built for long texts: novels, theses, scripts, notes. It’s fast, it works offline and it comes with an AI assistant you control. This is everything we built on the way to the first version.

📍 Open the app at listoink.com. Install it on your computer or phone and it works even without internet.

🌟 Highlights

  • Your AI, your way. Connect your OpenRouter account in one click (the key is created for you) and choose any model, with prices shown and your favourites at the top. Your key stays on your device only.

  • Dictation. Speak, and your words appear in the document or in your request to the AI.

  • Time machine. ListoInk saves versions of your document automatically: when you open it and every 10 minutes while you write. See what changed, name your versions and go back at any time without losing the current one.

  • Writing goals. Set words per day or a total by a deadline, with rest days and holidays. Confetti when you hit your goal 🎉

  • Huge books, no slowdown. Split your text into sections with icons and colours (over 3,000 icons). Tested with books of up to 500,000 words.

  • Works offline and installs like an app. Only the AI needs a connection.

  • Speaks your language: English, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Spanish and French.

🆕 New features

  • Sections: organise chapters and scenes in a tree. Drag and duplicate sections; every document has its own Notes and Trash.

  • Side-by-side sections: open your Notes or another section in the right panel while you write.

  • Ideas and notes: an ideas list on the home screen and a notes tab in every document.

  • Track changes: edits by you and by the AI are marked. Accept or reject them one by one, or all at once.

  • Comments in the margin, with replies (shortcut: Ctrl/⌘+Alt+M).

  • AI conversations saved per document. Search them and pick up where you left off. You can also choose whether the AI reads the whole document or only the current section, and switch between response profiles.

  • Find and replace, which also matches words without accents.

  • The “/” menu inserts dates, the time, headings, lists, quotes and dividers.

  • Highlight text in yellow and other colours, and add links from the formatting bar.

  • Collapse headings and lists to hide what you’re not working on.

  • Drag paragraphs by the handle on the left.

  • Light and dark themes in several colours, plus a style for each document: font (including OpenDyslexic) and size.

  • An icon and colour for each document.

  • Export to Word, PDF, ODT, EPUB, Markdown, HTML and plain text, including straight from the document list.

  • Archive and trash. Deleted documents stay in the trash for 60 days.

  • Activity map of your past year and stats: words, pages and reading time.

  • The ListoInk Guide: a hands-on tutorial document where you can experiment freely.

  • Navigation designed for phones (mobile).

🛠️ Improvements

  • Typing, selecting, and scrolling stay smooth even in very long documents.

  • Large books open almost instantly.

  • When you reopen a document, you’re back at the paragraph you were reading.

  • The line you’re typing on always stays in view.

  • Quotes and brackets close themselves and wrap around selected text. Quotes curl automatically, in the style of each language.

  • The document list has date columns you can sort, and each document’s actions sit in a ⋯ menu.

  • The top bar is tidy, and the info menu brings together the version, what’s new, and the service status.

  • When a new version is out, an “Update” button appears, and you never lose what you’re typing.

  • Each section holds up to 10,000 words, so everything stays fast. You’ll get a heads-up at 9,000.

  • Your document’s Trash is never sent to the AI.

  • The selection bar stays just above the keyboard (mobile).

  • A ⋯ menu keeps the document’s top bar tidy (mobile).

  • Text gets comfortable side margins on small screens (mobile).

  • A large scroll handle helps you move through long texts (mobile).

  • Tracked changes never cover your text (mobile).

🐞 Fixes & optimizations

  • Your text is saved even if you close or reload the page mid-sentence.

  • Words saved as you leave the page still count towards your goal.

  • Menus, buttons and tooltips are never cut off or duplicated.

  • The app loads only what it needs at start-up, so it opens quickly.

  • The selection stays put when you drag its handles (mobile).

  • The scroll handle goes from top to bottom in a single swipe (mobile).

  • Tapping near the outline’s scroll bar no longer opens an empty card (mobile).
